For you whom new about FeedBurner, it’s a free service which can maximize feed function on our blog. We just have to registering on FeedBurner and we’ll get new feed name to replace our blog’s feed. We can easily set up some features on FeedBurner, including compatibility problem and re-publish your new feed. Read more info here.

Optimize Tab

This tab used to set up some features to optimizing our feed performance. Don’t forget to activating SmartFeed feature option to make our feed compatible to all reputable feed reader. Click SmartFeed, then click Activate on next screen.

Reach the widest possible audience while publishing a single feed on your blog or site. Translates your feed on-the-fly into a format (RSS or Atom) compatible with your visitors’ feed reader application.

Publisize Tab

It’s consist some features to publish our feed to outside world on internet. First thing we need to do to activating FeedCount option, this feature useful to inform how many people subscribe to our feed.

FeedCount is another cool way to promote your feed. It is a dynamic graphic that always displays your feed’s current circulation, as calculated by FeedBurner.

On left menus, click FeedCount. On next screen, you can change colour setting for your FeedCount display button, click Activate to finish. Copy and paste FeedCound code to any place on your blog as you wish. FeedCount as link to your feed, can indexed by search engine and counted as backlink, it make your visitors can subscribe to your feed easily.

Another great feature is PingShot. This FeedBurner feature used to inform/ ping Technocrati and other feed reading services that our blog content already changed. Totally, we can inform 10 feed reading services (5 of them already defined by FeedBurner).

Most web-based feed reading services will check for updates on their own time. Give ‘em a push with PingShot. Choose the services you want to ping, and we’ll notify them when you publish new content.

To use this feature, click PingShot button on left menus, select on two option feed reading service available (Ping-O-Matic and Newsgator). On dropdown menus, select 5 other feed reading services as your choices. Usually, we choose Feedster, IceRocket, Google Blog Search, Weblogs.Com, and FeedBlitz. Click Activate to finish.

Last feature you should use is Email Subscribtion, it’s make your visitor can read your blog content last update from email.

Give your biggest fans another way to keep up with your blog or podcast feed by placing an email subscription form on your site.

Just click Email Subscribtion from left menus. On next screen, select FeedBurner as your service provider, and than click Activate.

Introducing new website to search engine (in other word, to make our pages indexed) are easy, just like introducing yourself in new community ;). Our steps are simple, not complicated, we just have to do three basic steps to make our new website indexed by Google and Yahoo. Read down to know what we do about that.

Step 1. Google Submission

Submit your new website to Google Webmaster Tools, add sitemaps, and verify your new website.

Step 2. FeedBurner Submission

If your website have feed(s), submit your feed to FeedBurner and optimize it. (find more to learn how to optimize FeedBurner)

Step 3. Yahoo! Submission

If you have done step 2, then submit your feed(s) to My Yahoo! and Yahoo! Site Explorer. Don’t forget to add your website sitemaps to Yahoo! Site Explorer.

Those are what we do to introducing new website to make our pages indexed by search engine. Avoid to submit your website trough third party or use automated script/ software, Google have policy to banned any websites from indexed if they submitted like that.

Alternative Steps

If you not satisfied by doing three basic steps mentioned before, and you have times, you can try some alternative additional steps here:

1. Submitting your website to MSN Search and MSN Live.
2. Submitting to some website directory or top sites.
3. Exchange link with other’s website or linked from your own indexed website(s).

Basically, there’s no guarantee how fast new website will indexed by search engines. Normally, its take 1-2 week till your new website indexed by search engine if u have done those three basic steps mentioned. It’s related with how search engine works (we will write about it later).
